Iler & Tito Jamming
Over the course of a couple months in 2019 Iler and Tito would gather at Tito’s apartment to make music. Iler on piano and Tito on drums or bass, and me behind the camera, trying my best to be a fly on the wall to this beautiful alchemy. None of this was prewritten or practiced.

A "ruined" roll
Towards the end of my time in Chile my Nikon’s shutter kept getting stuck open. I’d have to manually close it as fast as I could right after taking a photo. I was especially bummed when this problem persisted on my trek in Patagonia. Now, I love this roll.

an invitation
From my college essay. 2010.
“When I finally sat down with the photos in front of me, I realized that some of the shots I had hoped for were missing. I told myself, “this is what I have to work with, and I need to make it happen”. So I went to work, using the images that I had. Countless hours in the dark room had led me to a collage that was also a self-portrait. This self-portrait is not only an image of me, but is a reflection of my process. I learned that being creative requires a willingness to not only accept change, but to invite it.”
