a pivotal time
A thousand words to describe this moment wouldn’t do it justice.
California Waiting
9.2018. A trip I have come to appreciate more as time moves on. I did my best to be present, but my mind was elsewhere— on my withering relationship and the distance between so many of the people that I loved. Micah and I hit the road from San Francisco and drove south down the PCH, stopping at fruit stands and beaches, all the while doing my best to quell my anxiety. At the end of the day, the wildfires had blanketed the sunset and we needed to find a place to sleep. After visiting a few booked up campsites, we settled for the only thing left— a good old spot on the side of the road. Micah, who some would call a “planner” took it in stride and was all in.
The smoke cleared as we laid our sleeping bags down and cracked open our leftover nachos. Under the stars and finally, out of my own head.

I fell in a stream
We crossed a glacial stream to get closer to the ice. A few steps in, my feet were swept out from under me and I plunged into frigid water, as did my camera. Now I want to dunk all my film in glacial streams.
